I have been living in Florida since 1981.  For several years I lived at a home off a beautiful stretch of beach on Treasure Island just off the Gulf of Mexico.  But until I stayed at the top rated 5 star hotel at Yalong Bay in Sanya, Hainan, I really didn't know what it is like living next to the Ocean.

You have to come to believe!   White powdery sand, blue seas, lush green mountains at the foot of which water buffaloes plowed the rice paddies.  I can't think of any other reason that the people living here enjoys the highest longevity in all of China, and they even have a museum devoted to it.  "Culture of Longevity".

Chinese holiday season tend to be crowded in Hainan, because affluent Chinese from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand plus foreign expatriates living in China all come to this island.  But when you are there in November, December and February, you may wonder if the beaches were ever disturbed by crowds.
