Water Transport: Chongqing is a major trading port on the upper Yangtze River. The Jialing and Minjiang are the two major rivers converging into the Yangtze River. Upon completion of the Three Gorges Dam project, vessels of up to 20,000 tons will be able to ship directly to the Chaotianmen Docks at high tide. In addition, the municipality is planning to develop its biggest deep-water berths at the Changshou Port.
